To live a creative life means to continually go beyond what came before. As we think about the opportunity the new year brings for a fresh start, let's leave our comfort zones and push the boundaries from the past. Whether it's a more satisfying relationship, being more effective in our job, becoming healthier or more fit- wherever we desire change, a Personal Self-Training Program is the key to succes:
Goals- decide what you want to accomplish in the next month, six months, year. Write them down. Be practical.
Strategies to accomplish your goals- scheduling into your calendar a time commitment, reminders on your computer, keeping notes on changes as you go along.
Identify obstacles to achieving your goals- are you a procrastinator, spend too much time on social media, allow friends/excuses to distract you? Identify these habilts and steps you can take to minimize their impact. Write them down.
Specific steps- decide on workable steps to take in order to reach your goals. Create a support network (people who will root for/ bear witness to your success), get the resources necessary to implement change (gym membership, healthy food list, agreeing on a "date night", job advancement proposal, etc) and even tools you might use to keep yourself inspired and excited about the benefits of new outcomes in your life- career advancement, rekindled romance, feeling your healthiest, most empowered self.
