1. HOLD THE ICE- Drinking water at room temperature allows the body to use it for hydration without having to first warm it to body temperature.

2. TICKLE YOUR FANCY- Laughter is incredibly healthy; it boosts your immune system and decreases stress hormones, not to mention those happy endorphins and possibly helping us live longer.

3. PUCKER UP- Lemons are acidic on their own, but inside our bodies they’re alkaline helping to neutralize acidity that can cause illness and disease. Drinking the juice of a lemon everyday can boost the immune system, help with weight loss, aid digestion and reduce wrinkles 😊.

4. QUENCH IT LATER- Eating a meal without drinking a beverage promotes better digestion and absorption of nutrients.

5. THINK AHEAD- Eating an hour and a half (or more) before working out will burn fat in the body rather than use the food as the energy source.

6. GOOD NEWS- Resveratrol in red wines like Malbec and Pinot Noir, if consumed in moderation, because of its antioxidants can protect the body against damage that can put you at higher risk for things like cancer and heart disease. (Mayo Clinic).

7. SPOTTY LOGIC- Exercises for the thighs and abdominals will NOT reduce fat in those areas. Only regular cardio exercise will reduce excess fat in the body.

8. BEANS, BEANS- Legumes like lentils, split peas and beans are a healthy substitute for meat. High in protein, fiber, good carbs, antioxidants, calcium, iron and other vitamins, they can lower cholesterol for heart health and prevent/manage diabetes.

9. DIETS DON'T DO IT- Reduced calorie diets are not the best way to lose weight. The body will slow down its metabolic rate, conserve energy and try to maintain its mass on lesser and lesser amounts of food. Too bad it's not the case with gaining weight!

10. MIND YOUR BODY- The best way to find and maintain your ideal weight is consistent exercise and eating healthy food. It's a choice and a lifestyle change rather than a quick fix.
